My adventure took a significant turn at age ten when I moved to Suriname, completing my high school and later diving into our family retail business. Living and working in Suriname deepened my connection to my Indian roots as I absorbed the entrepreneurial spirit and rich cultural heritage my parents brought with them.
A transformative year in Trinidad opened the door to the training world at an ISP, igniting a thirst for knowledge that drew me back to academia. With resolve, I pursued my higher education online, then on-campus at Florida International University in Miami, earning both my BBA and Master’s. There, I not only advanced academically but also made a lasting impact at the Career Services Office, shaping many students’ futures.
In 2009, my life came full circle when a childhood friendship from Suriname rekindled on social media and blossomed into love. By 2011, I was married to my husband, and together, we launched Lybra Training, Coaching & Consulting, blending our lives and our visions into one thriving enterprise.
Today, Suriname is more than just where I live—it’s our home. Here, my husband and I are raising our son and daughter, instilling in them the values of diversity and openness that have so profoundly shaped us. Like many, my business faced significant disruptions, but it was clear that the community’s needs soared during these trying times. These 60 to 90-minute sessions were designed to impart practical knowledge and skills that participants could immediately apply in their daily lives, particularly to navigate the heightened uncertainties of the pandemic.
